🇺🇸 American Fact #17
The United States has the world’s longest-surviving written charter of government.
The U.S. Constitution was written in 1787, ratified in 1788, and has been in operation since 1789.
Since then, nations across the world have gone through revolutions, coups, collapses, new republics, monarchies, empires, dictatorships, and complete constitutional rewrites.
America has changed in countless ways, but the same constitutional framework still stands.
It has survived a civil war, world wars, economic depressions, and more than two centuries of conflict and debate.
The American system has not been perfect, but its endurance is rare.
A government built in the 18th century is still running in the 21st. 🇺🇸
