This tragic event that took place at the Downtown Suites motel on Samuell Boulevard in Dallas, Texas, on September 10, 2025. The Dispute The incident began as a dispute over a broken washing machine. The motel manager, 50-year-old Chandra Nagamallaiah, told an employee/maintenance worker, 37-year-old Yordanis Cobos-Martinez, not to use the broken machine. Cobos-Martinez became enraged because the manager had used a co-worker to translate the instruction rather than speaking to him directly. The Attack Cobos-Martinez pulled out a machete and began attacking Nagamallaiah. The manager fled across the parking lot toward the motel's front office screaming for help. The attacker chased him down and continued the assault in front of the manager's wife and son, who ran out and desperately tried to intervene. The Gruesome Details Cobos-Martinez pushed the family away, fatally stabbed the manager, and beheaded him.
