These folks are missing the point. People aren’t doubting that many in attendance at the Correspondents’ Dinner believed it was real. But, we’re dealing with an administration that lies about EVERYTHING, and Trump’s using it to justify his ballroom. Of course people have questions about whether it was staged, because a lot doesn’t add up. Passing judgment on people at home, while refusing to even consider that journalists in attendance may have been used as pawns, feels like a literal misread of the room.
