@StaveleyUncle @Cookieth1 @anon_opin I realise intelligent thought isn't something we see a lot of on twitter but it can still be done.
English

@StaveleyUncle @Cookieth1 @anon_opin Nope, what you saw here is progression of thought. I said initially I wasn't sure about the lyrics, then considered it, then made an argument for why they could be considered the best. There's nothing contradictory here to my original point. It's simply thinking something through
English

@FreyaBarnes @FilmUpdates And with it 70 million dollar budget even if it gets to 140 it won’t be close to as profitable
English

@StaveleyUncle @Cookieth1 @anon_opin I understand it perfectly, thank you. You do seem to be getting unnecessarily irate about this. Perhaps have yourself a nice cup of tea and try to move on.
English

@FreyaBarnes @Cookieth1 @anon_opin It appears that you don't understand - or prefer not to acknowledge - the meaning of "overrate". Never mind.
English

@StaveleyUncle @Cookieth1 @anon_opin We'll have to agree to disagree I guess. John Lennon was a superb lyricist (see Across the Universe) and Paul McCartney wrote The End which encompassed an entire philosophy in one line so.. I still don't think it's possible to overrate them.
English

@FreyaBarnes @Cookieth1 @anon_opin If you forget Dylan, Cohen, Waits, Franti, Townes van Zandt, Jagger + Richards, McGowan, Cole Porter, Bacharach, Mark Everett, David Berman + various others, you could.
English

@FreyaBarnes @Cookieth1 @anon_opin If you're not convinced on the lyrics and someone said they were the greatest lyricists ever, surely that's over-rating them.
English

@StaveleyUncle @Cookieth1 @anon_opin I think you could definitely make that argument. I'd say taking their body of music as a whole along with the impact they had (and continue to have) on modern popular culture it's actually pretty accurate. The only thing I'm not convinced on is the lyrics.
English

@FreyaBarnes @Cookieth1 @anon_opin If someone said that the Beatles were the most stunningly innovative act ever, singing the greatest lyrics ever written, with the four most gifted musicians of all time playing the finest tunes of all time, do you accept that this would constitute overrating them, Freya?
English

@Cookieth1 @anon_opin The Beatles laid the foundation of modern pop culture in countless ways. It's possible not to enjoy them, but it's pretty much impossible to overrate them
English

@anon_opin What about those of us who quietly think they are overrated? Don't hate them, still enjoy them once in a while, just don't think they are all that?
That allowed?
English

@hwysixone @hank19239066268 @ZeroSuitCamus Every musical artist has duds (admittedly Paul has quite a few) but there are also diamonds everywhere. Music just pours out of him
English

@hank19239066268 @ZeroSuitCamus I mean I like wings too but he has far too many duds to be considers the greatest
English

@thesolsticeguys @NicolasMadrig11 @BeatlesEarth And George's too for that matter. His first album All Things Must Pass was by far the best of his solo stuff.
English

@thesolsticeguys @NicolasMadrig11 @BeatlesEarth I agree with this.. nothing tops the Beatles. But there are diamonds everywhere in McCartney's (and Lennon's) solo careers too when you give them a chance.
