@przidnt254593 Westerners or whatever you call them, they seem genuinely threatened by East Asians, and so all these political pretenses honestly just seem like ways of trying to repress Asian development. I don't like to admit that, but there does seem to be genuine moral flaws in the West.

Blinken finally admitted the quiet truth: the US cannot defeat China alone. Instead of outcompeting China, Washington seeks to rally allies into an anti-China bloc, disguising containment as alliance coordination. Ironically, global opinion is shifting. Many nations hold more favorable views of China. Some overseas anti-China figures even raged at this remark, for China’s rise shatters their belief in permanent US supremacy. #USChinaRelations

Blinken finally said the quiet part out loud: The United States cannot defeat China alone. So his solution is not to outbuild, outproduce, or outcompete China. It is to assemble Europe, Japan, South Korea, India, Canada, and Australia into a larger anti-China bloc—then disguise containment as “alliance coordination.” That is the entire strategy: America alone is no longer strong enough, so Washington wants to weaponize everyone else’s anxieties. But here is the darkest joke. While Blinken dreams of mobilizing the world against China, global opinion is moving in the opposite direction. Pew polling now shows China viewed more positively than the United States across many countries. Even in Europe—America’s traditional alliance base—China’s favorability has risen above America’s. So Washington has a structural problem: It wants to lead an anti-China coalition at the exact moment more of the world trusts China than the country demanding that coalition. Blinken calls this “working with friends.” China calls it what it is: An empire that can no longer win alone asking its clients to supply the missing weight. America’s alliances were supposed to prove its leadership. Now they increasingly reveal its dependence. China is competing with the United States. The United States is recruiting the world to compensate for the fact that it cannot compete with China by itself. Yet the funniest meltdown did not come from American rednecks. It came from overseas Chinese opportunists who built their entire identity around hating China. Blinken merely admitted that America cannot defeat China alone, and they immediately accused him of being “brainwashed” and spreading “Chinese propaganda.” Their problem is not China. Their problem is that China’s rise has destroyed the psychological mechanism they depend on for survival: the belief that America must always stand above China—because without that hierarchy, their entire borrowed identity collapses.

🇬🇧🇸🇦 A 29-year-old Saudi prince died of cardiac arrest in an $800-a-night London hotel. Found by a maid in the bathroom, he took a lethal mix of alcohol, GHB, and Xanax. His blood alcohol was almost 3 times the legal limit. He’d just finished expensive detox treatment weeks earlier and wasn’t considered suicidal. Source: NY Post / Writer: Claudio

Saw The Odyssey, and I think I get now why the far right are so unhappy about it. It's a story about the disasters that come when the rule of law crumbles and might alone makes right. And it's about the duties of care and kindness we owe to strangers. It's anti-MAGA to its core.

@funwithtongues @CigsMake Andreas House of Pizza closed because I assume the children wanted to do other things - Francis Food Market was able to stay open because of Indian shopkeepers buying it. Some of these places might stay open. Demos almost closed but one of the children worked to keep it open.

In nearly every small town in America, there’s a shop that has sold hoagies and beer for 40 years. They do not do social media, owner barely knows how to work a computer, no website but they are still going strong. These will disappear soon as the boomer generation fades

democrats in every liberal city literally took off hate crime charges off every anti-Asian hate crime when the assailant was black we should have said they all yelled “allahu akbar” next time to get a hate crime charge to stick
Glenn Greenwald@ggreenwald

The first person the attacker stabbed in NYC was Asian, but you'll notice he's been disappeared from the narrative, in part because his being Asian undermines the narrative, but also because for so many of these people, non-Jewish lives have no value, so there's only one victim:
