Думаете, успеем к 2033 году уже жить в метро?

Social media and mobile phones have given a voice to the crowd. They have given the opportunity for direct, bottom-up and unmoderated, and almost instantaneous influence on the formation of the agenda. Social media are focused on transmitting not so much information as emotions. Emotions - and especially fear, hatred, anxiety - spread through them like wildfire. Infected by emotion, a person impulsively clicks like and share, spreading the message further, without having time or desire to check it and reflect on it. Trends immediately arise that put pressure on public politicians, and public politicians succumb to pressure - or, like Trump, ride the wave and lead the trend, speaking for the crowd. In post-WWII Europe and the United States, there was an understanding: the media should be managed by professionals, information should be checked, should be weighed, large media must be publicly monitored. Because the "biased" media, the "point of view" media in the hands of autocrats and propagandists helped them to start and carry out two of the most terrible massacres in human history. And this should never happen again. But social networks have nullified all of this. Even worse: now the agenda is not formed by tyrants to please the crowd, but by the crowd itself, with its prejudices, its fears, its ignorance. Wanting to please it, politicians adapt to its primitive language, flatter it, indulge its urges. And so we find ourselves in a world where hatred, fear, persecution and medieval levels of obscurantism are becoming the norm. In a world where conspiracy theorists are appointed to important political positions, and enemies of medicine and progress head the Ministry of Health. It turns out that humanity - even those parts of it that considered themselves the best and most progressive part of it - are not ready for real freedom of speech, for freedom of speech without pre-moderation. Because people are driven by emotions, not rational thinking. Because people are too lazy to study information in all its diversity and contradictions. People want to make quick judgments, want to have a position and back it up to feel right. This makes them vulnerable to manipulation, and especially to manipulation through the instillation of a sense of threat or perceived injustice. Through greed and fear. People remain pack primates, and sowing hostility between packs, no matter how the packs define themselves, is extremely easy. A person learns to be a person for a very long time. He needs to be taught to walk for a year, and for two years - not to poop on himself. He learns to speak for ten years, and to think for his whole life. Unfortunately, many give up trying to learn to think prematurely. Our world will never be the same. Having found a voice, having found power, the crowd will never agree to part with it. But the crowd, which out of boredom, hooliganism, panic, and prejudice turns the rudder of government back and forth, will inevitably run this ship aground or bring it to the reefs. There is only one way out: enlightenment. Education. The crowd must stop being a crowd and become a society. It must know history, understand sociology, understand biology and economics. It must truly understand the past of humanity and its present, so as not to ruin its future. Trump was elected with the help of memes. And memes can lead to World War III.

Социальные сети ориентированы на трансляцию не столько информации, сколько эмоции. Эмоции - и особенно страх, ненависть, тревога - распространяются по ним как лесной пожар. Заражаясь эмоцией, человек импульсивно жмет лайк и шер, распространяя месседж дальше, не успевая и не желая его проверять и по его поводу рефлексировать. Мгновенно возникают тренды, которые давят на публичных политиков, и публичные политики поддаются давлению - или, как Трамп, сделают волну и возглавляют тренд, говоря за толпу. В послевоенной Европе и США было понимание: медиа должны управляться профессионалами, информация должна проходить проверки, должна быть взвешена, за крупными медиа должно быть общественное наблюдение. Потому что «пристрастные» медиа, медиа «с точкой зрения» в руках автократов и пропагандистов помогли им затеять и осуществить две самых страшных бойни в истории человечества. А это никогда не должно повториться. Но социальные сети все это обнулили. Хуже того: теперь повестку формируют не тираны на угоду толпе, а сама толпа, своими предрассудками, своими страхами, своей необразованностью. Желая угодить ей, политики подстраиваются под ее примитивный язык, льстят ей, угождают ее позывам. И вот мы оказываемся в мире, где ненависть, страх, травля и средневековый уровень мракобесия становятся нормой. В мире, где конспирологи назначаются на важные политические должности, а враги медицины и прогресса возглавляют минздрав. Оказывается, что человечество - даже те его части, которые считали себя лучшей и самой прогрессивной его частью - не готовы к настоящей свободе слова, к свободе слова без премодерации. Потому что людьми управляют эмоции, а не рациональное мышление. Потому что люди слишком ленивы, чтобы изучать информацию во всем ее многообразии и противоречивости. Люди хотят делать быстрые суждения, хотят иметь позицию и подкреплять ее, чтобы чувствовать себя правыми. Это делает их уязвимыми перед манипуляциями, и в особенности перед манипуляциями через внушения чувства угрозы или ощущаемой несправедливости. Через жадность и страх. Люди остаются стайными приматами, и посеять вражду между стаями, и неважно, по какому принципу стаи себя определяют - чрезвычайно просто. Человек очень долго учится быть человеком. Его год надо учить ходить, и два года - не ходить под себя. Он десять лет учится говорить, и всю жизнь - думать. К сожалению, многие бросают попытки научиться думать п реждевременно. Наш мир больше не будет прежним. Обретя голос, обретя власть, толпа никогда не согласится расстаться с ней. Но толпа, которая из скуки, из хулиганства, из паники, из предрассудков крутит туда-сюда руль управления государством, неизбежно посадит это судно на мель или приведет его на рифы. Выход есть только один: просвещение. Образование. Толпа должна перестать быть толпой и стать обществом. Она должна знать историю, понимать социологию, разбираться в биологии и в экономике. По-настоящему разбираться в прошлом человечества и его настоящем, чтобы не загубить его будущее. Трампа выбрали при помощи мемов. И мемы могут привести к Третьей мировой.
