Did you know there’s no official name for a group of #koalas? 🐨 They’re mostly solitary, so scientists simply call them “a group of koalas,” only coming together occasionally when ranges overlap or during breeding. 🌿 Learn more: ow.ly/yrrf50Yy4xO

It’s #EucalyptDay 🌿🐨 Eucalypts mean food, shelter & safety for koalas — and when they’re lost, we see the impact in rescue. 5 years on from our Bushfire Recovery Nursery, we’re still helping regrow vital habitat. More trees = more koalas in the wild 💚

Patience remains on antibiotics for now. Puddles has finished his shorter course, adjusted due to his milder infection and young age, as joeys can be more sensitive to antibiotics. Encouragingly, both are showing improvement and remain under close veterinary supervision.

The difference treatment can make 💛🐨 #Koalas with #chlamydia often arrive very compromised - with painful eyes, vision loss, cystitis and wet, dirty rumps. Not all can be saved, but vet care can reduce pain & give some a second chance in the wild. 🌿

Ferguson has officially tested negative for chlamydia - such fantastic news! After a long time in care, he’s now moved to our plantation site to rebuild strength and practice climbing bigger trees before release. So proud of this boy - not long until he’s back in the wild! 🌿💛

Gideon returned to care with severe cystitis & significant weight loss. Despite intensive treatment his condition did not respond & he continued to show signs of pain. The difficult decision was made to humanely euthanise him to prevent further suffering. Fly high, beautiful boy.

Kris, a 1 y/o male, was rescued after being found beside his deceased mum. He was dehydrated, underweight & had mild abdominal bleeding, likely from a fall. After stabilisation and supportive care, he’s now doing well in home care with Renata alongside Cob and Cassy.

Following treatment for conjunctivitis and prostatitis, Rudolph was diagnosed with diabetes due to high blood glucose. The good news? He’s chlamydia negative 💛 He’s still on daily insulin, but his dose is lowering — a positive sign we may be able to wean him off.
