Our study reveals a dual role for auxin: coordinating gene expression and cytoplasmic remodeling via autophagy — ensuring fast, efficient developmental reprogramming. Auxin doesn’t just permit change. It enables it. 💫

In auxin maxima, autophagy lights up — and in autophagy-deficient mutants, differentiation slows down. Auxin doesn’t just tell cells who to become — it helps them clear the decks to become something new.
