Robbery Suspects Tracked Down Thanks to Smart Tech, Sharp Citizens, and Strong Interagency Teamwork
On March 10th, officers were dispatched to a reported robbery at Smoke Art located at 2440 Eldorado Parkway. The store owner stated that masked suspects had pointed a firearm at him before fleeing to the west.
Thanks to quick‑thinking community members who provided video of the suspects entering a blue Dodge truck, officers were able to immediately enter the vehicle information into the Flock Safety system. Even without a license plate, Flock’s technology allowed officers to search by vehicle make, model, and color, which quickly led to identifying a matching plate and getting information out to nearby agencies.
Within the hour, Little Elm Police Department located the suspect vehicle, conducted a high-risk traffic, and detained the suspects. All four individuals were later arrested for their involvement in the robbery.
