@millerman Nietzsche's doctrine of will to power entails the denial of any purpose in nature. Where we find apparent purpose, as in the human animal, it's just epiphenomenal. And for Nietzsche even what seems opposed to nature is still natural, in the same sense that sickness is natural.

NOTHING has a purpose? NOTHING is unnatural? Be careful what you wish for! Live by the sword biological nihilism, die by the sword of biological nihilism...
