@IsraMum @EdwardMacomb Hasn't Israel started two wars of aggression that have killed vastly more civilians than 10/7 against a foe that was neither occupying nor ethnically cleansing it?

In the shelter again.
My son just told us that yesterday he and some friends went out, and were caught by an alert.
Instead of running to the nearest shelter, his friend took the time
to FILM the cluster b0mbs over his head.
Now I have to locate his parents...
At least you get to see what it looks like.

I quoted you what they said. The Charter says they'll accept '67 borders as a compromise.
FYI, people who are being ethnically cleansed and occupied typically don't have nice things to say about the people doing that to them. Part of Zionism is looking at people's words and actions in isolation, not at the behavior that those words and actions are responding to. Collective self reflection is key.

I’m just going to say this — had Mexican soldiers invaded across the USA’s southern border on 10/7/2023 to rape and murder their way across part of Texas, then paraded the corpses of dead, naked American women around like trophies for the Mexican civilian population to spit on, by 10/7/2024, Mexico as an independent country would have ceased to exist — and no one would have said a word in protest.
No one tells non-Jewish nations that they must turn the other cheek after acts of war. Only Israel is expected to meekly bury her dead; only Jews are supposed to constantly mourn, but never to retaliate; to accept butchery and brutality and bombings as the price they must pay for mere existence — and it has far less to do with Palestinian lives than it does with the age-old European conviction that Jews only exist so that the rest of society has someone to abuse.
English

@Blueberr8383 @m4xim1l1an @sappholives83 Their own Charter and repeated public statements contradict what you're saying. They, like all Palestinians, want Israel to stop doing what it's doing. That's not hard to discern. Have you ever thought about what you would want if you were a Palestinian?

English

@FrohnmayerJon @m4xim1l1an @sappholives83 No Hamas wants Israel to end. Thinking that Hamas wants a two state solution is a lie. They don’t.
English

Come on. That makes zero sense. Sonic booms do nothing to stop rockets from being fired; they're just collective punishment. (Your own word: "retaliate.") No, the way to stop rockets is what it's always been--comprehensive peace deal that recognizes Palestinian dignity. Stop ethnic cleansing in West Bank, give right of return, end occupation, release the hostages held in "administrative detention," submit war criminals to Truth and Reconciliation Commissions, and so on.
English

@FrohnmayerJon @m4xim1l1an @sappholives83 No I’m saying that The Guardian and Haaretz never tell the full story. The sonic booms were used as retaliations after rocket fire from Gaza. The Gazans didn’t stop sending rockets into Israel and this was a non lethal way to retaliate. Would a bombing have been better?
English

@Blueberr8383 @m4xim1l1an @sappholives83 ok so are you claiming that Ariel Sharon's advisor didn't say that, or that Israel didn't in fact fly planes over Gaza and cause sonic booms? IOW, were you going to offer a substantive response, or just attack sources per your reflex to avoid cognitive dissonance?
English

@FrohnmayerJon @m4xim1l1an @sappholives83 Ah Haaretz and The Guardian? Why not quote Al Jazeera while you are at it?
English

1. Israel murdered 6,400 Palestinians in the 15 years before 10/7 versus ~300 vice versa. Is that true here also?
2. Americans are not genocidal toward Mexicans the way Israelis are toward Palestinians. You wouldn't see people going on TV and saying all Mexican children should starve.
3. If the US did in fact do this, it would be a war crime/genocide, so your hypo proves nothing.

English

@Blueberr8383 @m4xim1l1an @sappholives83 Bullshit. Israel wanted to freeze the peace process with the "disengagement." They kept it under siege and almost immediately started terrorizing the whole population with sonic booms.

English

@m4xim1l1an @sappholives83 Bullshit. Israel left Gaza in 2005.

Pigs don't just feel fear themselves. They also feel the fear of other pigs — and try to comfort them.
In one study, pigs watching another pig in distress first showed fear themselves and then tried to comfort the distressed pig through snout-to-snout contact. Pigs who'd previously endured the same ordeal reacted even more intensely — they seemed to recognize what the distressed pig was going through. (Goumon & Špinka, 2016.)
On factory farms, pigs trapped in gestation crates aren't just feeling afraid themselves. They're feeling the fear of all the other pigs around them. But the crate's iron bars stop them from even turning toward their fellow pigs — let alone comforting them with their snout.

Nozomi IIjima's "Scoffing Pig" is maybe most tragic photobook I've seen. She follows pigs on a farm, showing how the pigs understand the horror of which they are a part.

This Nature paper, which is clearly a big hit with the usual suspects in the fossil fool community, finds that over the past ~3 million years, climate shifts weren’t always tightly coupled to CO₂, with oceans and ice sheets doing plenty of the work.
Deniers immediately declare CO₂ irrelevant. Scientists note two awkward details: today's CO₂ spike is far faster and higher than anything in that record, and in past cycles temperature often rose first because warming oceans released CO₂, which then amplified and sustained the heat.
This time we're doing the outgassing ourselves.
Discovering that past climate was complicated is not proof that present climate change is imaginary, just that feedbacks exist, and we're currently pulling the biggest lever.

Thank you, twitterites. The amount of positive energy here is lovely to behold and immediately effective. I am better and I love you all.
That said, Israel continues to reap the whirlwind. Air defenses are penetrated not just up close and incredibly loud (or killing Palestinians, who "are not our responsibility), but surprisingly. It appears that while Israel's "best and brightest" (I hope to see them all in The Hague) were busy achieving aerial supreiority so they could bomb Iranian ships on the Caspian Sea (why?), they had no idea how many missiles Iran has, how Hizballah has deployed its rockets in Lebanon and how far and frequently both can launch into Israel proper.
I've written this extensively here - Israel has enormous strength; Israel is even weaker than it is strong. This is not an abstract observation. Israel is weak because it is driven by remarkable hubris. Israel is weak because we have thoroughly dehumanized ourselves. We care about our own lives even less than we care about the lives we destroy around us.
Israel is not "winning". Neither is the US. They continue to drift apart and also to play a game of "chicken" with the rest of the world. The fact that they do this with the indulgence of many is criminal, but even this is changing in real time. The greatest injustice, claiming the authority to take the lives of those "worth less", will not hold.
