When I was 10 my parents sat me down and explained my dad was not my biological dad. My biological dad wanted to be back in my brother and my life. That was the night I found out I was adopted. They wanted my to say yes or no. The answer was unequivocally NO. I had a dad who picked me from the first and made sure he was there for skinned knees, sickness and all the ups and downs of raising kids- he had no obligation to us other than he chose us. I’m almost 50 now and my dad, the one who adopted me, is still the only dad on my life. He’s 80 and never has he made me feel like anything but his daughter. 100%. Don’t shit on those that love and choose you.
