@BobIrvingCJOB We on our podcast soured on future American expansion when we saw how ignorant American XFL fans treated CFL fans, Canadians, Canada, and the history of the Canadian game. We were so upset at them, that many XFL fans blocked us. I say forget the US and focus on Canada.

In 94-95 when the CFL expanded to U.S. I did games from Baltimore, Vegas, Birmingham, Shreveport, and Sacramento—except for Balt., virtually empty stadiums. A disaster. People in the U.S. barely know Canada exists. Why would anyone think Americans anywhere would buy CFL football

As @FootballCanada president, we really tried for two years to do something to celebrate this in tandem with our American stakeholders. It's a shame that this foundational event for our sport was not commemorated in a meaningful way for gridiron football. But good on rugby for embracing this.
