Met with @GaelleRTW @Fromage_French today discussing her pending closure on the High Street. She is closing largely down to excessively high business rates and Brexit effecting her supplies. She is currently having a closing down sale. @TWlibdems @TWBC_Business #tunbridgewells

@rs_hole Didn't take it as a dig :-) The goods I import from Holland would have been fine, I think it's mainly perishables which are proving problematic...

@Fromage_French Interesting, I am sorry to see you go by the way, and was not a dig at you. I import from Austria, and other than applying for my EU new VAT number nothing is changing ( VAT paid on purchase not only on sale though)

@rs_hole It’s due to increased costs for importers, ie logistics, admin, tariffs, etc.

2/2 that wholesale prices will be increasing by 10% to15%,a cost which will have to be passed on & will therefore further impact trading.This shop had been a dream of mine for years & I have enjoyed bringing a small bit of France to TW.Last trading day will be Saturday 9 Feb.

After 3 yrs of trading,F&F is closing.High rents & exorbitant bus rates have made it difficult to turn a profit & there comes a time when working without salary has to stop.The prospect of no-deal #Brexit has also precipitated my decision to close as suppliers have confirmed 1/2

@Fromage_French Sorry to hear this, feel your pain from the 3 years we had a shop. Everything costs more - we had a huge landline phone bill, despite rarely using it, endless energy supplier disputes, and a landlord who had several foreign holidays.
