I would have been okay with Blizzard making filler expansions to give them time to cook up a good story. Those filler expansions could be Caverns of Time-based and show us iconic conflicts from Warcraft's past. With the patches being the different stages of those conflicts.

And Gods of Zul'Aman in TBC? Arguably Karazhan, too? The Emerald Nightmare in Legion? Please.

The argument that 12.1 is bad because it's disconnected from the main story is so stupid. Ion says it does connect, but even if it didn't - does anyone not remember Ulduar in Wrath? Rise of the Zandalari in Cata? Trial of Valor in Legion? It's not a new thing at all.

The theory is fun but has no supporting details in the movie and actually goes against the theme. Odysseus is afraid he’s ruined hospitality. That fear physically manifests as the inhospitable monsters he and his team encounter. They experience what it’s like to live in a world where people show no kindness. And it’s terrible and not survivable (for most). If there were never monsters and his men were the monsters, then they’re just doing the same thing they did to Troy but to other places. That’s not narratively interesting or dynamic. And undercuts his fear because he was just the problem the entire time, not the rest of the world. It would be like if the twist of Interstellar was that what they needed to save the world was just corn from Coop’s field. That would pull the rug out on the journey. Or if in Inception Cobb was a murderer and he gets away with it all. And Nolan’s not subtle enough to hide that from the audience. He’s too concerned with the audience following along. I think it would cause him physical pain to not have a big reveal. We’d get flashes of the cyclops being an actual person. Or the giants suddenly normal sized. Or the men bullying Circe. Odysseus would hold his head, like Cloud Strife, and be like “Ugh, my memories.” You could put to the Circe scene as a hint of the truth nature of things. But Nolan doesn’t follow up on that in a meaningful way. The Circe scene is just its own thing and not a hint at anything deeper.

@Less_HumbleTeej Which goes on to prove him as an unreliable narrator, and that when he’s talking to Calypso. The reality is there were never monsters- his men are the monsters, and they ravaged islands and were met with stronger opponents at times. The drugs make him think of it as we know it.

I have a theory that Blizzard are introducing these new Draenei worlds to us now so that we can get an Outland-like experience in the future. Worlds not only Draenei have been to but the Legion and Void, too.

I agree they need to explain it so we know for sure. But to me it seems fairly clear why Xal'atath only absorbed arcane and void magic: it's the two cosmic energies the Darkwell's leyline consisted of. Xal' likely needed that to move the Devouring Host down through it.
Noelia Ramos-Soria@NoeliaRamos96

Another major issue is the Dark Heart itself. It absorbs Dalaran and Khadgar at the start, then draws power from Beledar, and later from Dimensius and the ethereals. Those are huge moments—but the game never explains why these specific, places, or sources of power matter.

I'm hoping we'll learn more about what shadowfrost actually is. Why Icecrown (even before the Lich King) had a connection to the Shadowlands, and who those revenants were who wanted to protect Arthas from Frostmourne in WC3.

I'm guessing the Last Titan will have a plot of us having to unite the Scourge after discovering that they are immune to the Void's influence/whispers. Probably under Sylvanas as part of her penance.
