@vkrajacic Loving this so far. I do have 4 suggestions for it. * Auto-select current file when opening folder directory * Setting to always open new windows as tabs automatically * Tabs dragged out to a new window cannot be dragged back again. * Inverted folder view settings lock defaults

File Pilot is a 2 MB standalone executable, but it still ships with an (optional) built in installer. You can set up context /start menu integration, register PATH, and most requested, set it as the default. Last one isn't a full replacement (because Windows), but double clicking folders or pressing Win+E will open File Pilot.

I'm seeing news online about Windows 11 ditching the search bar functionality entirely for the start menu and replacing it with a new Copilot search bar, basically letting AI find ALL your files. Jesus crist this Copilot integration in Windows 11 is just going way too far 😑

During my stream today, a disasterous audio behavior happened and i'm deeply sorry for anyone who got exposed to it. I'm not sure what happened but i'm at a high priority to make sure it never happens again. A streaming panick command to avoid this in the future is in the works.
