Not posting more on events today as still fuming & im the opposite of anti racing. However 4 times in 50 years been embarrassed to say ilove the sport. One by v inexperienced rider at Fakenham & 3 times by some of the might of Irish racing. The sport cannot afford these mistakes

@almarron Agree and not condoning Fakenham but imagine ramifications if horse died and everyone said it. Yet few weeks later that happens and when you need the right people to speak out the silence is deafening

@FryboyRacing Yeah and the Fakenham one I would have thought much worse than today but again different situation and opinions were made and given on that day too.

How similar is this to what happened Gold Dancer today, 10 years apart. How times and opinions have changed. Killultagh Vic raced plenty after it. Poor Gold Dancer didn't deserve what happened today after landing a Grade One.

@PolleyMatt @TheDawnApproach Couldn't agree more Matt well said. However we not learning are we and continue to shoot selves in foot. 5 years ago the Cheltenhsm stewards said Rachel Blackmore should in future take longer assessing welfare of mount when Gin on lime did similar. Today nothing.

@TheDawnApproach People will always make mistakes, if indeed it was a “mistake”accidents will always happen in this sport. If we don’t believe people are doing the right thing by the horses, it has to stop now doesn’t it?

When Animal Aid and the rest go about horse racing being win at all costs in the name of entertainment a situation like Gold Dancer is exactly what they mean. We know people in the sport love these animals but that situation cannot be defended. 😭😭😭

@almarron Agree with dammed if do and dont of course. However said same at Fakenham when inexperienced rider had book thrown at him.

@FryboyRacing It's happened more than once I agree with that. I think it was a case of damned if you do and damned if you don't today.

@almarron In 2021 stewards deemed that Rachel Blackmore must take more time before assessing a horses injury before continuing. 5 years later because presumably connections everything's ok. Thats what I have issues with. (Sorry for being argumentative)
