Liverpool went from a team that struggled last season to the top team in the EPL rankings thanks to Jurgen Klopp's changes. Jurgen Klopp's notable tactical changes in 2023. Thread 🧵

🇩🇪 I know a lot of fans want Xabi Alonso but in my opinion if Liverpool want to return to high-intensity football with aggressive pressing structures and want somebody with experience at the top level than Julian Nagelsmann is your man. He’s doing a good job with Germany, and he developed some of the best pressing teams at Hoffenheim, RB Leipzig and Bayern Munich in the Bundesliga. Jürgen Klopp seems to be a big fan of him as well. Always thought he was let go far too prematurely at Bayern. He won 71.4% of his games. Obviously, Alonso would be a solid choice, too. Just feel like Nagelsmann is better suited for a Klopp 2.0 style of play.

Slot: "we press high" Klopp vs Slot - Pressing Zones + Slot at LFC - Pressing Zones A high press isn’t a single moment. It’s a commitment across the team: the attack starts the press, the midfield backs it up, and the defence squeezes high. Everyone engaged all the way up to the 18-yard box. Is anyone seeing something different? I cannot fathom that comment Arne!

Slot and Arteta are more similar than many people think, both in terms of management style and football philosophy. vile people.

No manager has ever been treated as well by Liverpool as Slot; he lowered our standards to an unbelievable level, yet he still has so many supporters. Get out of here with Gakpo, you coward.

We're going nowhere with Gakpo; he ruins every effort by passing the ball backwards, slowing down the attack and putting his teammates in awkward situations. He's Liverpool's LW, you know.

No Curtis Jones and have Gakpo in this game is really really funny.

Marco Silva: "I think we did control the game very well. not with the ball like we like to do it but we did it very well. They overload a lot of areas and we covered them very well. The load with all the games is incredibly tough. We scored two brilliant goals and we had a great chance with Harry Wilson to score 2-1." (Sky Sports)

Slot'JDP is too predictable; the opponent knows exactly what we're going to do. It wasn't that we controlled the ball well, but rather that the opponent allowed us to play that way. They knew we couldn't do anything.

HT: Fulham 1 #LFC 0: Problems for Slot. Once again Liverpool looking toothless as an attacking force. 62% possession but Leno hasn't had a single save to make. The home side have only had one attempt on goal but they lead courtesy of Wilson's emphatic finish.

We are going against the path Klopp has built over the years. No more pressing, no more counter-attacks. Now, all that remains is the meaningless U-shaped formation.

“The data makes the case irrefutable. When a player in the 90th percentile for progressive passes received has a pass completion rate in the 29th percentile, and a take-on success rate in the 20th percentile, yet continues to be the primary outlet of your attacking system, you don’t have a player problem. You have a coaching problem.” lfcjusto.medium.com/the-systemic-s…

I don't need to know who the Liverpool manager is, but the fact that he told the media he wanted to play like PSG is enough reason to sack him.

I'm fed up with this Dutch JDP, Anfield is like a library. We are too predictable.

One thing I noticed when watching comps about Joel Ordóñez is that he really likes pass the ball to RW, much like Trent pass to Salah.

We played more flexibly and better when Gakpo was off, I was very surprised.
