I’m starting to listen this by @fuchsiadunlop and it is fantastic. I think audio is best in this case as she is fluent in Mandarin and uses the Chinese words for many dishes and ingredients. Had first heard the author through @tylercowen

Trying any food once is a good rule to follow. My wife does not subscribe to that belief, thus we ate quite differently during our honeymoon in Vietnam. There was a great video put out by @mercatus years ago where @tylercowen (and other guests) spoke with the excellent @fuchsiadunlop during a meal at Panda Gourmet restaurant in D.C. The entire video is on line and worth watching but this clip is Tyler asking Fuchsia how he can try and enjoy sea cucumber more than he currently did. I would highly recommend Fuchsia’s latest book, Invitation to a Banquet, the Story of Chinese Food, which came out in 2023. I absolutely loved it. youtu.be/Z9KK-0bd1RU?si…
