@FukudaSetsuya プライバシー的な理由から学歴が聞きにくいというのは面白いですよね、ご存知のようにアメリカなど死亡届に学歴を記入する国は珍しいわけではないので。hesitationというのは、そういう個人の地位に言及することが躊躇われることに対する意味でした

schools in Japan do not want to talk about disparity in children's achievement by SES, yes, this is well-known among soc-of-ed scholars. Regarding this, the hesitancy to report inequality is also found in the vital stats where birth/death/marriage by education are not available

@ufsoc 1つには調査とは異なり、届出の義務を課しているわけで回答拒否が許されない中、幅広くプライベートに関することを聞くことはできないということ。職業や産業は死亡との関連で唯一国勢調査年のみ調査していると聞いてます。

@ufsoc Japanese vital stat has very broad occupation category in each census year though. Usually registration data doesn't have much SES info, unfortunately.
