40 crowns of purple asparagus arrived in the mail today. We got to sieve our lovely home made compost to add to the beds and finished them off with straw mulch to protect the trenches from erosion and drought

Thanks to everyone who turned out today to help in our community garden. We still have beds spare for local families to adopt. Compost turned, sorrel started, seedlings pricked out. Perennials moved on to allotment. What beautiful weather. A pleasant distraction from cold season

This is one of our local volunteers. She is an amazing person. She bakes the bread and makes magic soups for our community meals. Today she started work on the raised bed we have donated to her family. Here she will grow many herbs for more amazing recipes and to feed the family

Something from nothing. 18 degrees in the tunnel today. A good day for separating the new growth from the strawberry patch. We got all of these plants from a few clumps. Ideal for planting up in our hanging basket sessions.

Letting in the wild. Hairy Bittercress grows all year round. We call it a weed but it is in fact delicious and tastes like cress or rocket. Makes great ground cover to keep in moisture and life. We are keeping it around so our beans have friends. #noneedtoweed
