@charleshoppes I think part of it is that my most notable struggles were when I was a kid and so seeing it from a kid's perspective helped clarify things that might be buried now that I'm an adult. It was like "Ohhhhh that's what was going on."

@FullFieldHammer I have found that some children’s shows (Bluey, Steven Universe, etc.) have the most profound way of addressing mental health, grief, identity. When discussed & portrayed well, the simple & relatable packaging of the message hits HARD for adults. I’m glad Bluey was that for you.

It sounds crazy, but seeing the Bluey episode "Army" about the Jack Russell from S2 was literally illuminating about my experience with ADHD.

When I was a kid, ADHD didn't feel taken very seriously. Partially it was overdiagnosed and overmedicated, partially just written off as hyper. So, compared to severe disorders, it always seemed to minor for me.

All I knew was that I couldn't do the same stuff everybody else did and I didn't have the tools to understand or explain it. And it was so so lonely.
Anyway, if you struggle with neurodivergence and want to feel seen (and/or cry a bunch), go ahead and watch that episode.
