In 2024, Luis Gil compared most closely to Freddy Peralta in my model. In 2025, his best comps were Hector Santiago and Erick Fedde 😭😭😭 Given NYY’s SP depth (when healthy), there will be no margin for error for Gil.

The #Yankees biggest bugaboo from their pitching staff in 2025 was the walks. NYY was 4th highest in BB%. Late in the year, it felt like NYY pitchers were constantly behind. Constantly nibbling. Weathers dominating the zone is a relief. 5 of 6 hitters have fallen behind 1-2 🔥
