BIP-110 currently has support from well under 1% of publicly reachable Bitcoin nodes. Even if it were activated by that group alone, they’d be operating only a tiny fraction of the network - fewer than 500 nodes out of roughly 25,000 publicly reachable nodes. Bitcoin consensus isn’t determined by a small minority of nodes. Any proposal that lacks broad adoption across the ecosystem - users, miners, businesses, and node operators - is unlikely to become the network standard. If supporters choose to activate it without wider consensus, they’ll quickly find out what happens when you try to change Bitcoin without the network behind you. In other words, they’ll fork around and find out! 😂
