I’ve finally given up on Upwork 😭 I’ve tweaked my profile, revamped it, added portfolios I’ve literally done everything on that app, but I still haven’t gotten a single job. Or is there something I’m still not doing right? 🥲

There’s one guy on this app always parading himself as a founder hiring people remotely from Nigeria, meanwhile people end up working for him for free 👀 I honestly don’t know if some of these newbies are scared to call him out, but I won’t sit back and watch people get used by a selfish human being. Baba came to my DM with one “mouthwatering” $20/hr offer thinking I’m new to this game 😭😂 Every single message sounded like pure ChatGPT copy and paste. The funniest part? I told him let’s jump on a quick video interview, oga refused instantly 🤣 That was when I knew something wasn’t right. Story to be continued later 🍿😂

You guys have amazing CVs o. A recurring theme I see: 1. Never add your CGPAs. 2. If your first degree isn't related to the role, remove it, or leave it as just "Bachelor of Science" 3. Never use images, I don't care if they're icons. ATS don't like it. 4. Call out what YOU did, don't hide under "Contributed to..." Let me take a break! 🙏😭😂

@Funsyjay14 It happens to the best of us, I think it's a compartmentalizing thing... Especially when 10 is happening and working is working... Disappearing is just the default. It takes a great deal to stayyy, you can get an accountability partner to keep you in check.

I talk a lot about consistency online…meanwhile I’ve quit and restarted more times than I can count, and I still crawl back into my shell at the slightest inconvenience😭 At this point I don’t even know if it’s consistency I struggle with, or I just like disappearing.
