Southampton kicked out of Championship play-off final for spying. Correct decision, especially as it transpires they spied on three clubs in total. This is about more than a bloke standing behind a tree with an iPhone. It’s about how seriously the game should take cheating. EFL independent disciplinary commission have struck a blow for fair play, for integrity, for the need for respect between clubs, for coaches to have an expectation of privacy in training. 25% of goals scored in the Championship this season were from set-pieces. Clubs practised them. Understandably, coaches don’t want their plans revealed. EFL sending a strong message with this punishment.  Spygate 2 different from Spygate 1. Rules tightened and punishments introduced since Leeds United’s offence. Appeals, of course. It’s tough for Southampton fans to be denied the trip to Wembley and the chance of a return to the Premier League. It’s particularly tough that many have forked out for tickets, travel and accommodation. Their frustration and anger should be directed at their club. Southampton should recompense fans. It’s not the fans’ fault.  The stupidity in all this is that Southampton would probably have beaten Boro anyway. Better team, stronger bench. But this is so damning… “Southampton admitted breaches of Regulations requiring Clubs to act with the utmost good faith and prohibiting the observation of another Club’s training session within 72 hours of a scheduled match,” says EFL. “The admitted breaches concern fixtures against Oxford United in December 2025, Ipswich Town in April 2026 and Middlesbrough in May 2026.” So the punishment is proportionate. It should act as a deterrent. Honesty matters.

@Benjwinst @don836787988830 The gap between the back 4 and midfield was obvious without him being in that area which resulted them going long and losing it time after time. Got to be a long term option sorted. Just so much to do

One thing I will say after Sunday, we miss Idrissa Gana Gueye more than anything. Some player him and a lot disrespect him.

To think that some people felt that Arsenal were bottlers. More like battlers. They ground out another win, this time over a dogged Burnley, to take them to within touching distance of a first Premier League title in 22 years. If not quite the Invincibles – Arsene Wenger's record-breakers were a better side – this team of Mikel Arteta’s are certainly the Indomitables. They keep facing down adversity, injury, challenges, obdurate opponents. They are not always the greatest to watch, unless Bukayo Saka is weaving his way into the area, twisting left-backs inside out, but they are supremely resilient. Players stood up to counted under pressure. David Raya in goal. Gabriel at centre-back. Declan Rice, the best player in the league this season, shielding the defence and driving Arsenal forward. Viktor Gyokeres, maligned initially, now celebrated for his 14 goals in this league campaign. Arsenal’s spine has been strong. Arteta rotated well. Kai Havertz started and scored against Burnley. Arteta subbed well. Havertz removed quickly after risking a red with a dangerous challenge. So close now. Arsenal will deserve this title for holding their nerve when so many questioned them. #AFC

Why don’t players who aren’t in the squad wear club tracksuits in the premier league anymore?!?

Little consolation to Nottingham Forest but at least PGMO has acknowledged the referee was wrong to allow Matheus Cunha’s goal for Manchester United after Bryan Mbeumo clearly handled. He trapped the ball, controlled it. VAR intervened, encouraged the referee to look at the monitor and consider overturning his wrong decision, but the referee stuck with his decision. VAR was not the problem. VAR recommended the goal be disallowed. Fortunately, there was nothing riding on the game. Otherwise, the game could possibly have been looking at a legal dispute.

@StDomingo2026 @ToffeeTVEFC @PED7 @THT1878 And here lies the problem. It all stems from the top down. They need to be speaking to the fans and setting out the vision/strategy. Because the radio silence and the hiring of Kinnear as CEO isnt very ambitious. You go for the best in class!

@ToffeeTVEFC @PED7 @THT1878 This is the thing, I don’t think anything will change. TFG seem content with us just being a PL club, and we currently have the perfect manager for that mentality. I’d love to be proven wrong but it just feels like Pointless FC for many more years to come

@Benjwinst Whilst there's data, im an eyes dont lie man. You know what you see. Weve only deserved to beat Fulham/Forest/Chelsea/Burnley at home all year. Of the aways, whilst we might have been good value for the wins, they've been smash and grabs. Not dominated. I dont see progress.

Woke up still annoyed, wish sometimes I could see the progress some fans see. Unfortunately I can’t and the data backs that up too. So frustrating.
