@IndieGameJoe My advice (as someone who has been working full-time online for 14 years) is to not engage at all with any kind of negativity, and do not take it personally when people direct negativity at the thing that you are sharing. They don’t know you. It’s not directed at you.

I called a mechanic genius because that’s how it felt to me. But the pitchforks are already out, angrily telling me it isn't genius; I shouldn't call it genius. Guess I need thicker skin if I’m going to keep spotlighting indie games. It can be exhausting.

@TylerGlaiel I'd probably replace Dwarf Fortress with Wizadry. Basically the entire basis of JRPGs comes from that as it directly inspired Dragon Quest. You could probably argue for Wolfenstein 3D over Doom but I'd accept either tbh.
