And, in the spirit of free speech, the AMS and conference organizers so generously offered to confine us to the "first amendment demonstration area", i.e., the pig pen pictured below:

When this poll is over, one of the options below will win, by having received the most votes (or tied for the most votes). Your goal is to say something true about this outcome. Please RT for maximum chaos.

Yay Ipswich Town FC! (They're the football team I support, and they just ended the season with the largest goal difference, and fewest losses, in League One! They'll be promoted to the Championship league next season)

@minilek This! I took the GRE in New Zealand, where I'm from, and had the same experience: offered in one location, and only once a year. This was very surprising to me because NZ is such an "Americanized" country in the grand scheme of things, and even then it was so inaccessible.

The conversations I’ve seen around eliminating GRE weren’t due to scores correlated w/ wealth. Rather, the exam is absurdly expensive, and very difficult to take in many countries (eg in Ethiopia there’s only one city offering it, and you can’t register w/o a foreign credit card)

3. The reasoning is that test scores correlate to family wealth. But compared to what? The school pedigrees that make up the bulk of a college application implies wealth from essentially diapers on Philips Exeter has a 10% acceptance rate... for 9th graders!

Thanks for the retweet, I guess, but it doesn’t really make up for kicking us out of JMM. 😬

Unfortunately due to Twitter’s limitations, the winner of this poll will be decided by First Past the Post (sorry about that)
