The red card was a mistake in the first place And it should never have gone to VAR According to the International Football Association Board (IFAB) VAR protocol, the video assistant is only supposed to intervene for potential red cards if the on-field referee has made a "clear and obvious error."  Because referee Raphael Claus did not even issue a yellow card on the field—treating the contact as an accidental, routine collision— So in short I think FIFA admitted a mistake . And they used there own rules Same rule that reinstated Cristiano Ronaldo from a 3 match ban before the tournament. I am okay with only because by @TheIFAB rule it should not have been reviewed for a red card

@FutOffsides Colombia’s winner wrongfully disallowed. Croatia winner wrongfully disallowed as well. We are witnessing one of the biggest scandals in World Cup history.

✅ Correct VAR intervention in the Portugal vs. Croatia match. ⚽️ The sensor inside the ball detected a slight touch by Matanović when the ball was over his head. 📸 Pašalić was in a clear offside position when this happened. 👉The subsequent touch by the defender is NOT deliberate play and, therefore, doesn't play the Croatian midfielder onside.

@fperva This is precisely the very play that caused the law to be changed in 2021. This was deliberate play back then, but it isn't anymore.

En ningún momento he debatido si hay intención o no, de hecho, como he dicho antes, da exactamente igual. La regla 11 lo llama "juego deliberado" porque la IFAB nunca cambió el nombre que había antes del cambio en la norma que hicieron tras el famoso incidente de Mbappé en la Final de la Nations League de 2021, pero en realidad lo que describe en la actualidad se definiría mejor como "juego controlado".

@Payoranyeverde @fperva Da igual lo que quisiera o no quisiera hacer. El defensor no tuvo tiempo para coordinar sus movimientos debido a la proximidad a la que se produce el toque de cabeza y a la velocidad del balón. Por tanto, sus acciones no satisfacen la definición de "juego deliberado" de la IFAB.

@fperva This is the definition of "deliberate play" according to the Laws of the Game. The defender never had control of the ball, so no, this was very clearly not deliberate.
