I feel like I need to get a message off my chest, and I've been deliberating all day on whether or not to post this on Twitter, but I think I want to. To start, I appreciate every single person who is interested and hyped for what we are doing for #FM26 and the mods we are producing. The positivity I do see is very infectious and I encourage everyone to keep doing that, or asking questions that bring a smile to my face! I don't want to feel angry, or feel a sense of emptiness, but the last few days I've seen a lot of behaviour from people in the community which I believe is unhealthy, and has caused my smile to be wiped out a bit. I think the term entitlement serves it well. Be it in the skinning sections where the lovely skinners of the game get bombarded with "requests" which are borderline demands, or my own 3d sections of the game. Not only on Twitter, but also on some of the Discords, Occasionally on Reddit, Facebook, the forums... Everywhere really. I want to remain polite at all times, and whilst most of you are all super enthusiastic about it and try to think along, there's always a subset of users who exploit the goodwill of people doing this in their free time. I want people to understand that what we do is; 1. A hobby. We do not get paid like a job for this. It is a pastime that is supposed to be fun. 2. Spend unholy amounts of time into this hobby. Speaking for myself I am nearing 800 hours on research, developing, 3d making things, all that good stuff. It is a lot of time, because it takes a lot of time. Thankfully most people understand that. When we see poor "feedback" like "bro add xyz tile now" or "the San Siro is dark" for the 500th time, it is starting to get slightly annoying. We do this as a hobby. We all have day jobs, we all have a family, we all have a life. As modders we share data and findings between us since we all want the game to be the best version it can be, seeing some people take stuff, asking loads of questions, running with it and not contributing is a choice you can make, but at the end of the day it only frustrates the creators, causes distrust and demotivation. The second big point is that when a creator doesn't reply in 2,5 milliseconds after your question, don't ping or tag them immediately, they will reply to you in their own time. Patience is a virtue. Stuff like "check dm bro" or "bro it would be so much better if it did this bro" or "focus on skin bro" make me wanna do shit Ghandi did in Civ 1. Especially if things aren't possible and it's been explained countless times. It actively demotivates me because my time is being wasted. Ultimately, it comes to this: The creators are human too. At this rate you'll lose us. Feel free to disagree, but please do so respectfully and let this lead to a healthy discussion instead 🫶 - Bassy
