Early start today Heading to London for our annual conference Looking after this VIP..! Rabin has been awarded our specialty association highest accolade for outstanding contribution over last 10 years as a consultant We’ve a got a new head & neck book to do but not today!

Thanks to @eacmfs_org & charity @Future_Faces1 who approached us to get involved + to all of our team who supported their two month QVH placement. We wish them the best & hope they enjoyed their time in East Grinstead.

What an unexpected treat! I remember buying this wine in France over 10 years ago & had totally forgotten about it It’s like Christmas in a glass.. marzipan, butter & hazelnuts yet despite being 14 years old, it’s still so fresh Will cork this up & savour it again tomorrow!

Finished my medical finals exams 30 years ago today & qualified as a doctor a few weeks later Comprehensive school education & had many failures along the way- never imagined how things would turn out! But with hard work, determination & some luck, anything is possible. 😀

A very emotional day as found out our Surgical Specialty Council has awarded me the most prestigious accolade in UK Oral & Maxillofacial Surgery - the Down Prize I love trying to make a difference, educate & support trainees and lead change & improvement I’m blown away.. 🥲

What a lovely unexpected surprise on my desk this morning Thrilled our core trainees have had a good year but sad to see them leaving As well as ensuring the highest level of patient care, supporting & championing training is one of the greatest joys of being a surgeon

3 years ago, I submitted a Human Factors PhD thesis & wrote in the dedication: 'If my work has prevented a serious error for just one patient then I have succeeded' Can't quite believe how much traction & change has happened in healthcare since then, but still much more to do
