I personally don’t like silent treatment at all. I understand needing space sometimes because everyone gets overwhelmed or upset, but there’s a big difference between taking time to process your emotions and completely shutting someone out.
Silent treatment can really mess with a person emotionally, especially when they have no idea what they did wrong or why they’re being ignored.
It leaves the other person overthinking, confused, anxious, and emotionally drained.
If something is wrong, say it. Even if you need time, angry, hurt or disappointed, communicate that instead of acting like the person doesn’t exist.
