Is your party identification based on your politics or is your politics based on your party identification?

There are people who want to simplify the world. To reduce everything. To make it all 2D or 1D. To flatten us. To make every person, every idea, fit into neat categories. That isn't the world we have, that's not the world we want. Embrace depth. Don't be flattened.

Negative politics can trickle down and discourage us, beat us down, convince us to give up. But in that same way, positive politics can lift us up, show us that great things are possible, and it can inspire us to do good and be better. Time for a politics that inspires.

If you want to do good, it means engaging with the world as it really is and not as we want or fear it to be. There is no room for alternative facts or alternative reality.
