@Fyne_io by the gods… i was not expecting the official Fyne account to give a thought on my silly situation, hahaha thanks for the insight, i actually am quite curious and intrigued about using Fyne for this, i guess i will have to give Fyne a go now.

hmmm im confused, i want to make a desktop app for generating company quotation, but i want to use golang for it, i’ve done my research and got to 3 answers:
1. Wails
2. Fyne
3. just be mainstream & use electron
Does anyone have a thoughts? or maybe another way to tackle this?

@_ndianabasi This is a funny take... To position a widget at the bottom of view is 1 line in Fyne (use Border container). Who can even remember how to do that reliably with CSS.
Maybe you missed the layout package? You rarely have to position things manually if you're using the builtins :).

as you need to understand how to compose the layout mathematically.
These are things that will be child's play in HTML-based apps.
I've given up. I will stick with Wails and focus on it.
The browser won. I now understand why even the biggest companies build with Electron.🙇

I really want to build a non-browser-based desktop application with Golang. (JavaScript isn't a good option for me.)
I came across Fyne. It's canvas-based, fast and lightweight. All code is golang.

@dylanisaiahp @golang @Windows Some people prefer WSL2 (Windows Subsystem for Linux). However you should not have had any problems, the commands at docs.fyne.io/started/ have worked for us well.
Make sure you are running the right terminal - that's the easiest mistake.

I am so humbled by the two @GopherCon talks which touched TamaGo this year!
@andydotxyz is porting Fyne to TamaGo, which means bare metal GUI in UEFI with go-boot!
@whittileaks talked about our upstreaming proposal and its generic “noos” API.
