Our Yr5 EXCEL ACADEMY ENGLISH session is in full swing - we are analysing language in text messages and social media posts to catch a thief!!

📖 🖊️ World Book Day 2025 GAA Creative Writing C ompetition 📖 This year’s theme is ‘read your way’. The winner will see their writing on all ‘do now’ slides in lessons on World Book Day as well as receiving a great prize.

Lovely to see Yr7 working in teams to present their findings on Shakespeare’s life to their peers as part of an oracy task. 🗣️ GREAT work!

We held a spooky spoken word event yesterday. Our students showcased all of the GREAT values and their preparation and confidence was outstanding. They read their poems and short stories aloud and the audience celebrated their impressive oracy skills. Well done! @GAAshton_news

📣 CALLING ALL YEAR 11 STUDENTS 👀 👇🏻

Last week we took 55 students to @gbtheatre to watch Our Day Out - some were a little camera shy! What a great time we had. It was an excellent performance. We have been in contact with the theatre and are in the process of looking at booking some more shows.

5 Yr6 classes have had a sample lesson from English today and have impressed us with their writing skills! 💫

🎭 We will be taking 55 students to a local theatre on September 10th to see ‘Our Day Out’ which starts at 7:30 pm. Letters with full details will be available on Friday and an email sent to parents with a consent form and payment information.🎭
