Jovic up a set and serving for the match with 3 MPs (-10,000 live)
Navarro serving for the match TWICE with 1 MP (-4,000 live)
Khachanov up a set and serving for the match at 6-4 in the TB (-5,000 live)
Leylah up a set and up a break in the decider. Blew 4 BPs at 4-3 40-15 to serve for the match.
Humbert up 6-5 30-15 in the decider (although I admit he didn't deserve to win)
Tabilo from 2-1 30-15 to 2-6 in the second set to blow the +4.5.. just needed two more games and couldn't get double broken.
Texas Tech up double digits and led 80% of the game, only to blow the +2.5.
I am not having fun at the moment.

It won’t be relatively easy but I like the matchup for him as he has a good enough serve to match Virtanen and he can play defensively and draw errors from Virtanen, who is a live by the sword type of player, who likes to try and hit alot of winners. Budkov Kjaer is a super talented youngster, in his junior years he was regularly landing serves at speeds of 125mph, its only gotten better since joining the pro tour so he can definitely hold his weight and it’s not like Virtanen is a polished returner. NBK can hit off both wings, massive forehand and a nice two handed backhand and manoeuvres the court well. For the most part, this match should be dictated on serve but on them second serves and prolonged rallies I have to give the edge to Budkov Kjaer. Also worth mentioning indoor hard courts have been the best for him since joining the pro tour and he has the most experience on these types of courts but it does get canceled out by the fact that Virtanen is an indoor hard court specialist with much more experience on these types of courts

Il est resté dans son schéma de tir. Si il avait claqué le 5/5 on aurait crier au génie comme sur le tir du sprint.
Emilien il est comme ça depuis toujours, c’est ce qui fait sa magie, son panache.

Conditions in South America are notoriously challenging for non-locals. We’ve seen many Europeans struggle here historically, as the humidity and heavy conditions often require time to adjust physically. The circumstances are far from ideal for Gaubas.
The Lithuanian was in Israel playing indoor hard courts just until Sunday, then went to Alicante for a few days to prepare for clay events, and only arrived in Rio on Thursday. That’s been a very busy week, and I’m not convinced a couple of days is enough to properly acclimatize.
On top of that, his history in South American opening matches isn’t great — he lost both of his openers here in 2024 and 2025 as a favorite.
Pellegrino isn’t far off Gaubas’ level — both are essentially Challenger players — but the key difference is that he’s been competing in these conditions for several weeks already. He should be much closer to his regular level, whereas Gaubas could easily be affected by the travel load (three continents in six days) and limited preparation time in Rio.
