I introduced the Curiosity Board to my firsties and they have already started filling up the board with topics they want to read about! I can’t wait to surprise them with books about their topics for independent reading time! @canSTEM @GCISDELAR

Today we learned about reading “old favorites” in reading workshop to practice our fluency. They LOVED reading books they knew well & did such an amazing job reading aloud. So proud of them! @canSTEM @GCISDELAR

Something new I did last year- After shared read aloud students did a Quick Write. Ex: Would you want to be friends with main character? Why or why not? I did this almost daily. This 5-7 minutes made a huge impact. ALL students could be successful. #Tips #CriticalThinking
