This week has been incredible; Forest school, a trip, a dance performance, watching the leavers show and @gcpsyear6 were AMAZING, a water fight and whole school robot wars- WOW. We ended with a sleepy pillows competition and @GCPSYear2 won… just!!! Have a brilliant weekend.

Year 2 had the best time cooling off in the sun with a key stage one water fight. A brilliant way to end an amazing week!

We enjoyed using the iPads to research spiders this week to help us gather information for writing a fact file this week.

Our Art installation is up and the children were so excited to see it all coming together after so much hard work. Amazing as always key stage one @GCPSYear2

What a fantastic morning for sports day today! Amazing effort by all and we just managed to avoid the rain. Thank you to all who came to watch!

In art this week we made relief maps. It was great revisiting our geography fieldwork skills!

Off we go on another mile! Apart from raising money, it has had a great impact on concentration in morning lessons.

Another mile ticked off this morning. We are really enjoying being on our bikes and scooters!

We enjoyed starting our sponsored bike ride this morning! A mile a day for a week. It was great to see so many bikes on the yard this morning. @NorthTynesidePE

Then after some tea, we had secret agent hide and seek before making smores on the campfire. 🔥

Next it was time to set up camp and get ready for our movie night!

Next it was time to crack the code and release the treasure … we used the food colouring in the inventions lab to decorate our cakes!

First we had to make cakes in the creative lab and conquer the assault course of doom!

Year 2 had our secret agent sleepover last night! We had the best time completing different missions to become fully qualified secret agents 🕵️

We loved making fruit kebabs today. We had to use the bridge cutting method and tried new fruits like pineapple and mango that we don’t usually have. It was really fun!

We loved our game of naughts and crosses as part of our celebration of world mental health week. We talked about how exercise is good for our minds not just our bodies. @GCPS_PE

We stayed a protest this week and campaigned not to lose our break times. This was to help us learn about being activists and what it means to stand up for your rights. We had so much fun!

We found right angles around the classroom with angle eaters. We picked this up so quickly that Mrs Armer had to find us more challenges! We love maths in y2.
