As clarification, while school buildings will be closed giving way to NO in-person learning, Wednesday is to be another virtual day for students and staff of Gainesville City Schools

Due to snow accumulation and unsafe driving conditions in parts of the city, Gainesville City School System will be closed Wednesday, January 22. Please check with your teacher(s) regarding the expectations.

With the ground temperature at or below freezing, any precipitation tomorrow will be hazardous.  In an abundance of caution, Gainesville City School System will participate in virtual learning on January 21.  Please check with your teacher(s) regarding the expectations.

Mr. Thompson held season football tickets for 77 years and will be sorely missed when his Red Elephants hit Bobby Gruhn Field on Aug. 15 for the first game of 2025. The Red Kingdom stands with the Thompson family in their time of mourning ♥️🙏
