Augusta National spends millions of dollars making the course firm AND green. It works for the Masters every April, but it has also created a false perception of what perfect conditioning looks like for a Top 100 course.

It's international Thank a Golf Course Superintendent Day! One of the best ways we can show our appreciation for all they do is by making their job a little easier. Here's a few ideas 👇 #ThankASuper #ThankAGreenkeeper

Latest turf news: 2025 is shaping up to be a summer to remember — or, better yet, forget: The summer of 2025 will be one to remember for many superintendents — but for some it will be for all the wrong reasons. What began as a cool, wet extension of… dlvr.it/TMVhTJ

@ECCSuper77 @USGAGrnSection Great info. Would be curious about the numbers before maintenance takes place and how well each one holds to later in the day.

Our @USGAGrnSection GS3 ball continues to teach. These matrix readings have been consistent all year. Mowing slows greens down but smooths them up. Rolling produces speed and makes them truer. Left mow/roll, right roll only. Healthy turf with roll only while meeting expectations.

After a stretch of freezing weather, a mild winter day can seem like a great chance to play golf, but if the soil is thawed at the surface and frozen below there is a risk of damage from foot and cart traffic 👇

Mid summer weather update. Today will be day 19 in the 90’s. We’ve had 38 days since 5/1 where the dew point hit over 70 & 12 days where it hit over 80. Rain since 5/1 is 9.67”. Total evapotranspiration, 13.51”. That’s a tough summer for the Met area let alone for just 1/2 of it.
