I'm tired of hearing about the Tuskegee Airmen. The *actual* most successful air unit in the European Theater in WWII was the 56th Fighter Group, known as "Zemke's Wolfpack" after its leader Colonel Hubert Zemke. The 56th destroyed 674.5 enemy aircraft in air to air combat--6 TIMES the number of air-to-air victories of the Tuskegee Airmen (112). Even though Zemke's Wolfpack was arguably the best air unit in WWII you've never heard about them because they were White. You've heard about the Tuskegee Airmen because they were Black. Literal DEI.
