We were proud to welcome the Honourable Stephen Fuhr PC MP CD, Canada’s Secretary of State for Defence Procurement, to our stand at #Eurosatory2026. Hall 5A Stand B416 became a hub of Canadian innovation as we highlighted sovereign capabilities alongside our partners at @Qohash. This visit was the next step of our #DIGITALspine platform demonstration ahead of CANSEC 2026, proving that combined Canadian solutions are ready for the world. We thank Stephen Fuhr for his time, the Qohash team for their expertise, Canadian Association of Defence and Security Industries (CADSI), and all the visitors who stopped by to explore how the Canadian defence ecosystem can empower modern militaries.

In our Canadian Battle Lab, @esricanada is working alongside our teams to explore how geospatial technology can integrate across defence platforms and workflows in ways that are practical, connected and operationally relevant for the @CanadianForces. More than just a demonstration space, the Battle Lab with the support of primes like @ThalesCanada, gives Canadian SMBs the opportunity to test, iterate and collaborate in real-world scenarios – helping strengthen interoperability while building deeper connections across Canada’s defence ecosystem. Our team had the honour of welcoming officer cadets from the Royal Military College of Canada to our Ottawa headquarters. RMC plays a unique national role in developing the next generation of @CanadianForces officers, and for our colleagues, the visit was an opportunity to connect that journey with the reality of delivering operational capability. The visit showcased how our teams test, integrate and stress-test LC5ISR capabilities – from mobile and HQ domain labs to multinational interoperability work supporting NATO operations. They also got hands-on insight into our vehicle fleet, field enablement teams and the people working shoulder-to-shoulder with soldiers to bring new technology into service. We always value opportunities like this to share our work and support the development of future CAF leaders.

That collaborative environment gives Canadian companies the space to experiment, refine and demonstrate capability together – strengthening Canada’s defence ecosystem while helping Canadian innovation compete on the world stage. Canada’s defence innovation ecosystem already has the talent and technical depth. Real momentum comes from creating the space for Canadian companies to integrate, collaborate and demonstrate capability together. That’s exactly what the GDMS‑C Battle Lab is designed to do, working side-by-side with defence primes like @ThalesCanada. Working with TACTIQL, a Canadian veteran‑owned business based in Ottawa, our teams are exploring how sensor and battlefield data can move seamlessly across C2 environments in support of the @CanadianForces. Hear from Mike Nelson, Founder and CEO of TACTIQL, on the value of collaboration inside the Battle Lab.

#CANSEC2026 has come and gone, but the momentum hasn’t. Across Battle Lab Industry Days and the CANSEC floor, the same conversations kept resurfacing – how capability actually gets into service, and what it takes to make that happen in this current environment. There’s plenty of dialogue in the sector about systems integration and sovereign capability. In practice, that’s been our day job for decades. We’ve been piecing together complex C5ISR, maritime, airborne and land mission systems long before those terms became headline material – supporting the @CanadianForces and allied operations where reliability is non-negotiable. At our company, capability is built day to day by Canadian engineers, technicians, program teams, production, supply chain, security, IT, finance, HR, and field service colleagues across Canada – all focused on getting working systems into the hands of operators who depend on them. We appreciate everyone who took the time to meet with us before, during, and after CANSEC. As we move into the second half of 2026, the focus continues to be on outcomes that matter.

Big capability shifts often start with a conversation and teams willing to test a different approach. Inside our Ottawa Battle Lab, we’re working alongside primes such as @ThalesCanada and collaborating with companies such as @tacteris to connect Canadian innovation with evolving operational priorities for the @CanadianForces. CANSEC runs on conversation – and evidently, a fair bit of coffee. ☕ A big thank you to veteran-owned coffee company, @arrowheadcoffee, for providing a much-needed caffeine boost at our #CANSEC2026 booth. From first thing in the morning right through to the final conversations of the day, they made sure no one was running on empty. It was great having them with us – a great cup of joe, even greater people, and a steady hand on the caffeine supply when everyone needed it most.

That’s a wrap on #CANSEC2026. The pace and conversations this year carried a noticeably different tone – greater urgency, renewed industrial confidence, and a sharper focus on sovereign capability. Prime Minister @MarkJCarney's remarks captured that shift directly. Canada is “building again” – investing at scale in defence, accelerating procurement, strengthening Arctic and NORAD capability, and placing far greater emphasis on Canadian industry, innovation and supply chains. For us, that’s refleted in our production of #MadeInCanada solutions across RPAS, C5ISR and ASW. Industry is taking a more integrated role in Canada’s security architecture, and that recalibration is becoming more evident across the sector. Thanks to everyone who made time to connect with the team over the last two days – those conversations are exactly where progress starts.

This has been one of the busiest CANSEC's we’ve seen, with strong footfall across the show floor from the moment doors opened and a real buzz among both visitors and exhibitors throughout the day. We were proud to see @CDR_Magazine recognize Joel Houde, Vice President and General Manager, General Dynamics Mission Systems–Canada as Defence Executive of the Year 2026. Announced earlier this year, this moment marks the formal presentation – and a chance to reflect on what the recognition represents. In his remarks, Joel grounded it in people, purpose and responsibility, pointing to the teams across engineering, delivery and support who carry the work forward every day. He spoke to an outcomes-driven mission: enabling forces to connect, decide and act with confidence, underpinned by speed, interoperability and sovereign capability.
