This morning, Mr. Joseph Mwangi Komu was officially sworn in as Chairperson of the Isiolo County Public Service Board at the Isiolo Municipal Grounds in a ceremony officiated by the County Attorney, Mr. Hashim Mohamed. Mr. Komu assumes office with a proven record of leadership, having served diligently as Acting Chairperson over the past six months. He brings composure, clarity of vision and a firm commitment to constitutionalism, transparency, meritocracy and accountability in strengthening public service management in Isiolo County. As an administration, we remain steadfast in our resolve to build strong institutions that serve our people efficiently, professionally and with integrity. We wish him every success as he undertakes this important mandate in service to the people of Isiolo County.

Uhuru Vocational Training Centre has grown into a leading hub for youth skills development in Isiolo County. Fully managed by the County Government, the Centre offers a wide range of market-driven courses, including electrical installation, welding, motor vehicle mechanics, masonry, plumbing, ICT, tailoring, and hair & beauty therapy. These programmes are delivered by dedicated instructors employed on permanent and pensionable terms. With a capacity of over 300 students and an average intake of 50 trainees per course, the County Government’s decision to waive school fees has significantly enhanced access and inclusion, boosting enrolment from just 87 to nearly 200 youth. Building on this positive momentum, the Centre is set to expand its training portfolio to include driving, food and beverage services, leatherwork, and catering. These additions will further equip our young people with practical, hands-on skills for employment, entrepreneurship, and a self-reliant future. #IsioloRisingKE #GovGuyoDelivers
