CEO of Royal GD, Ynte Schukken, closes #Dairyjump2050 with a positive talk and addressed: “We live in a complex (dairy) world and there is no single, simple solution. But continuous innovation and drive from scientists and decision makers will facilitate the future of dairy.”

Ilka Klaas from DeLaval updated the audience at #Dairyjump2050 on a new approach to sensor-based mastitis management. She also addressed the need the combine data points and use AI to create novel tools to better manage animal health, welfare and production in 2050 and beyond.

From methane to cow welfare now at #Dairyjump2050 with Nina von Keyserlingk. The animal welfare specialist from Canada touched on lameness as an ongoing issue, the public view on cow-calf contact, and other major challenges and opportunities to consider as we move to 2050.

The future of dairy farming is intertwined with the need to reduce methane. Kelly Nichols from UC Davis explains at #Dairyjump2050 that there are powerful feed additives out there that help accomplish this mission. “But there are also important knowledge gaps of these products."

Rinse Jan Boersma, founder of Beluga Animal Health delves into GHG emissions at #Dairyjump2050. “The dairy road to net zero is not defined yet, and we know that farm size and productivity level matter. But most mitigation options that are available today are feasible.”
