The project aims to support 1,900 households with cash transfers in Kilhaweri and Mandera West sub-counties for a period of two months. Meanwhile, Save the Children will implement complementary nutrition interventions in the same areas. UK in Kenya Save the Children Kenya

The meeting brought together sub-county and national government administrators from all locations across the two sub-counties to strengthen coordination and ensure smooth implementation.

Gencad, together with Save the Children, organized a stakeholders’ meeting in Mandera West and Kilhaweri Sub-County, Mandera County, to share updates on the new project, the Humanitarian Assistance to Drought-Affected Communities (HADAC).

Funded by the Foreign, Commonwealth & Development Office(FCDO) through Save the Children, the project will provide two months of cash transfers to 1900 households across Mandera County, supporting drought-affected communities to meet their most urgent needs with dignity & choice.

In the presence of the County Steering Group and Cash Transfer Technical Working Group in Mandera County, GENCAD successfully launched the inception of the Humanitarian Assistance to Drought Affected Communities (HADAC) project.

Over 2,000 households—organized into 658 business groups, 86 Village Savings and Loan Associations (VSLAs), and 5 cooperatives—from Mandera South, Kutulo, Mandera East, and Khalalio Sub-counties have received 40 million which is the first phase of KES 60 million KUZA JAMII grant.

The workshop was opened by Mr Hassannoor Adan, Deputy County Secretary and closed by Mr Salah Maalim Alio, CECM Lands, Survey and Urban Development.

We held a consultative workshop to review GENCAD's five-year Strategic Plan at the Amara Blue Hotel in Mandera. The meeting was attended by senior staff from the county & national government departments and development partners based in Mandera. We thank everyone who attended.

The UK handed over 150 computers to @Mandera_cgvt through the #DigitalAccessProgramme to help enhance: 🖥 access to digital services for digitally excluded communities 🖥 this includes women, girls, persons with disabilities and elderly citizens.

We flagged off 150 computers to Mandera County today through the support of @KICTANet and the UK Digital Access Program, this aligns with the Kenya Digital Economy Blueprint by providing e-learning for students, digital marketing tools for entrepreneurs, and innovation platforms for local communities. The GENCAD took part in the farmers' field event at Moi Stadium Mandera. The event was organised by Kuza Jamii Consortium partner @SRCTechKe. Participants included Cooperatives, service providers & cottage industry players. The event was attended by @MohamedAKhalif Mdr Governor.
