شهدت الجامعة الأميركية في بيروت اجتماعًا مثمرًا واستشرافيًا جمع معالي وزير الاقتصاد والتجارة الدكتور عامر بساط، والمدير العام الدكتور محمد أبو حيدر، إلى جانب فريق عملهما، مع نخبة من قيادات وأساتذة الجامعة، وذلك في إطار منصة المشورة للجهات الحكومية. وضمّ اللقاء عددًا من القيادات الأكاديمية البارزة، من بينهم عميد كلية مارون سمعان للهندسة والعمارة الدكتور ألان شحادة، وعميد كلية سليمان العليان لإدارة الأعمال الدكتور يوسف صيداني، والدكتور إسحاق ديوان، إضافة إلى أساتذة من مختلف الاختصاصات، بما يعكس التكامل العابر للكليات في الجامعة والتزامها بإحداث أثر وطني. شملت الأولويات الرئيسية حماية المستهلك، وأنظمة رصد الأسعار، وتحليل سلاسل الإمداد وهيكلية الأسواق، وتطوير استراتيجية للمؤسسات الصغيرة والمتوسطة، وإصلاح السياسات التجارية، ودعم الابتكار والمناطق الاقتصادية الخاصة، وتعزيز الأمن الغذائي، وتحديث أنظمة السجل العقاري، وبناء قدرات القطاع العام. كما تطرّق النقاش إلى أولويات مستقبلية، من بينها سياسات الاقتصاد الدائري، وأطر الحد من الانبعاثات الكربونية، و مخاطر الكوارث، والتخطيط لمرحلة إعادة الإعمار، بما يعكس شراكة متنامية بين الأوساط الأكاديمية والحكومة لدعم صمود الاقتصاد اللبناني ومسار الإصلاح.

A productive and forward-looking meeting took place at AUB with Dr. Amer Bisat, Minister of Economy, and Dr. Mohammad Abou Haidar, Director General, alongside their team, bringing together key AUB faculty and leadership through the Government Engagement Platform (GEP). The discussion convened prominent academic leaders including Dean Dr. Alan Shihadeh (MSFEA Dean), Dean Dr. Yusuf Sidani (OSB Dean), Dr. Ishac Diwan, and faculty members from across disciplines, highlighting AUB’s cross-faculty strength and commitment to national impact. Key priorities included consumer protection, price monitoring systems, supply chain and market analysis, SME strategy development, trade reform, innovation and special economic zones, food security, land registry modernization, and public sector capacity building. The meeting also addressed future-oriented areas such as circular economy policies, carbon frameworks, disaster risk modeling, and reconstruction planning, reflecting a strengthened partnership between academia and government to support Lebanon’s economic resilience and reform.
