100 YEARS AGO THIS MONTH... In 1919 WA was represented by two strong football leagues. The WAFL covered the Perth metro area but here was also the Goldfields league in Kalgoorlie. East Perth traveled to Kalgoorlie to take on Railways to determine the State Champions of WA.

The Goldfields Football League is considering implementing its heat policy with 36C forecast for Saturday's grand final.
The heat policy would see longer breaks and bigger benches, with teams extended from 22 to 26 players.
