Donald Trump is withholding billions of dollars in New York infrastructure unless he gets Penn Station and Dulles Airport named after him. This is not only brazenly corrupt. It is sick, twisted and egomaniacal. The time is long overdue for sane Republicans to stand up to Trump.

De verhouding van 1 gepensioneerde tegenover 7 werkenden (in 1950) is nu minder dan 3 op 1, met nog slechts 2 werkenden per gepensioneerde in 2040. Dit leidt tot hogere grijze druk, arbeidsmarktkrapte(vooral zorg), stijgende premies en hoger tempo stijging aow leeftijd

Europa moet wel militair onafhankelijk, maar technologisch vooral niet? Het artikel gaat bovendien vooral over cloud computing. Dat is vooral een capaciteitskwestie, geen rocket-science. Bovendien staat een groot deel van die centra in Europa, en zullen de Big Tech bedrijven de service verlening aan Europa echt niet opgeven.

Trump's "Board of Peace": Belarus, Morocco, Vietnam, Kazakhstan, Hungary, Armenia, Egypt, Kosovo, Pakistan, Paraguay, Albania, Uzbekistan, Bahrain, Qatar, Indonesia. This is what's left of America’s global standing after one year of Trump.

So, what's new? Multinational NATO command? Trump could have politely asked for it. Sure NATO would have agreed years ago. Mining rights? Only Greenland, as a sovereign country, can allow mining concessions. Must be no more than a "soft" commitment. Sure Greenland will allow foreign companies mining activiteiten (as they would have before). This is not an exclusive right! Stop Russia and Chima? Again, what's new?

Toch wel knap hoe Mark Rutte hier, tussen het geslijm door, even ongezouten zijn punt maakt. En ik zie op Trump's account dat hij vindt dat hij er als glorieuze winnaar uit meent te zijn gekomen Alleen maar omdat hij mag blijven doen wat hij daar al mocht doen. En omdat hij wat kritische grondstoffen mag delven. Dat lijkt me echter een vrij zachte toezegging. Zal toch altijd onderhevig blijven asn het uitgeven van concessies door de soevereine staat (Groenland). Als dir het is, is het knap gedaan door Rutte. Blijft toch ongemakkelijk dat geslijm, en Trump ontkent alles weer even gemakkelijk morgen...

Let me nuance a little then. The US carries 1.9 million metric tons (2% of the world reserve), as compared to 44 million for China. Also Brazil, Vietnam and Afrika hold much higher reserves than the US. At this point in time, the US are depending on China for 70% of imports to facilitate its manufacturers.

@GFerrarius @atrupar We actually have tons of rare earth/materials and capabilities to manufacture. Not at massive capes right now but getting there soon. What we don't have is the refinement capabilities. This is due to environmental regulations. We ship mega tons to China to refine for us.
