🦍A special moment at #KwitaIzina20! @gggi_hq Director-General, Mr. Sang-Hyup Kim, proudly named one of Rwanda’s newest baby gorillas “Impuguke”, born on 21 July 2024, to mother Ahazaza. ‘IMPUGUKE’ is a Rwandan name that means “EXPERT”. This name emphasizes the vital role of experts from diverse fields, from scientists to economists, in making conservation a shared responsibility. By collaborating and sharing insights, these specialists show that protecting wildlife and habitats is a mission for the entire community, ensuring the sustainability of gorilla populations and the preservation of their ecosystems for generations to come. Rwanda’s commitment to protecting biodiversity and empowering communities aligns well with GGGI’s mission to work with Member States and partners to inspire global climate action through building inclusive and sustainable green growth. #KwitaIzina #VisitRwanda🇷🇼 #Conservation #GreenGrowth #ClimateAction #GreenRwanda🇷🇼🌿
