His Excellency Sir Patrick Allen welcomed members of the Alston High School Red Cross Society to King's House on Wednesday, 18 March 2026, for an educational visit.
The group, comprising approximately twenty-eight students and three teachers, was afforded the opportunity to engage briefly with His Excellency prior to their tour. During the interaction, students were encouraged to deepen their understanding of Jamaica's governance structure, civic responsibility, and national identity.

Rabbi Raskin presented cheque on behalf of the donors of Chabad of Jamaica in support of the Governor-General’s Programme for Excellence (GGPE), underscoring a shared commitment to empowering Jamaica’s youth through education.
The visit also marked a meaningful moment in Jamaica’s rich Jewish heritage, as the presence of a permanent Chabad emissary reflects a renewed chapter in strengthening faith-based outreach and community support across the country.
The proclamation is in honor of the Rebbe’s 124th birthday on March 29, 2026. Rabbi Menachem Mendel Schneerson is the leader of the Chabad-Lubavitch movement and a global spiritual leader.

His Excellency Sir Patrick Allen received a Courtesy Call from Rabbi Yaakov Raskin, Director of Chabad Jamaica & Chief Rabbi of Jamaica and Dr Ron Foreman on Tuesday, 24 March 2026.
His Excellency issued a Proclamation declaring 29 March 2026 as “Education and Sharing Day” in Jamaica, highlighting the importance of education, kindness, and community engagement. During the Call, Sir Patrick Allen also made a contribution to the ARK (Acts of Routine Kindness) charity box.

The ceremonies form part of Diplomatic Days 2026, organised by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Foreign Trade, and will culminate in the Annual Diplomatic Corps Dinner on Thursday, 19 March 2026, hosted by Their Excellencies at King’s House.
The High Commissioners and Ambassadors are:
•His Excellency Efthymios Efthymiades - Ambassador of the Hellenic Republic (Greece)
•His Excellency Tariq Othman Al-Othman - Ambassador of the State of Qatar
•His Excellency Malelanye Ralejoe - High Commissioner for the Kingdom of Lesotho
•Her Excellency Elida Alcedo de Arosemena - Ambassador of the Republic of Panama

His Excellency Sir Patrick Allen received Letters of Credence from five Ambassadors and three High Commissioners during the Presentation of Credentials ceremonies at King’s House.
In welcoming the newly accredited Heads of Mission, His Excellency congratulated them on their appointments and encouraged active engagement with Jamaican leaders, meaningful collaboration, and opportunities to experience the island’s rich culture.

Her Excellency Lady Allen welcomed members of the Brownies and Club Scouts from Manchester and Kingston to King’s House for a Courtesy Call held on Tuesday, 10 March 2026. The visit was facilitated at the request of the Hon. Custos Garfield Green as part of the Manchester Beliefs, Values & Attitudes Initiative’s 5th Anniversary.

Discussions also focused on climate resilience and regional preparedness in light of increasing climate-related challenges. The High Commissioner reaffirmed the UK’s support to Jamaica in the wake of Hurricane Melissa, particularly as the country works to recover and rebuild in sustainable and resilient ways.
His Excellency acknowledged the hurricane’s impact on several communities and noted that the Government continues its efforts to restore a sense of normalcy, especially in rural communities in the western region of the island.

His Excellency Sir Patrick Allen received Her Excellency Alicia Herbert, OBE, British High Commissioner, on Friday, 13 March 2026, following her recent appointment. During the Courtesy Call, the High Commissioner shared her commitment to strengthening engagement with the Jamaican diaspora in the United Kingdom, particularly in the areas of education, sports, and cultural heritage.

Under the aegis of the JPA, Jamaican athletes have proudly represented the nation in numerous international competitions, including the Paralympic Games, the International Paralympic Committee World Athletics Championships, the Commonwealth Games, the Para Pan-American Games, and the Central American and Caribbean Wheelchair Basketball Games.
In recognition of the achievements and contributions of para-athletes, His Excellency has declared March 11 as an annual Paralympic Day in Jamaica, celebrating the spirit of resilience, excellence, and inclusion in sport.

The national JPA is the body responsible for sports for persons who are physically challenged and visually impaired. It was established as the successor to the Jamaica Paraplegic Association and was founded by the late Sir John Golding in 1966. The Association played a pivotal role in advancing opportunities for para-athletes across Jamaica.

His Excellency Sir Patrick Allen received representatives of the Jamaica Paralympic Association (JPA) for a Courtesy Call on Tuesday, 10 March 2026. The visit was led by Mr Christopher Samuda, President of the JPA, who formally introduced the Association’s executive members and parish representatives.
